Painting Gems

by Assistant Doc Chaptermaster

This method assumes you have a black primer coat on your minis as I did. For a lighter color gem, I'd do a light gray or (preferably) white primer coat. It is also assumed that you're thinning your paints with a bit of water.

Step 1: Basecoat the gem in Scab Red.

Step Two: Apply Blood Red as shown in the picture.

Step Three: Apply Ruby Red as shown in the picture.

Step Four: Apply Blazing Orange as shown in the picture.

Step Five: Apply a stripe of Golden Yellow to the bottom of the gem, over the Blazing Orange. Next, add a dot of white to the top of the gem straddling the line where the Scab Red and Blood Red meet.

VOILA!!!
